Chief Financial Officer/Business Manager

The Bridge Academy, located in Lawrenceville, NJ, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer/Business Manager to oversee all financial responsibilities of the organization. The school focuses on the needs of children with language-based learning disabilities, with programs both during the school year and the summer months. It is expected that all who take employment at the school will work for the needs of the instructional staff and program and support the school’s mission of “Helping Children Bridge the Gap Between Potential and Performance” via solid financial planning and prudent forecasts.
Qualifications:
The candidate for this position must be organized, have solid QuickBooks and Microsoft Office skills, be able to work independently, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Confidentiality and flexibility are required. A master’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a closely related field, or a New Jersey School Business Administrator Certificate issued by the NJ DOE, or a current Certified Public Accountant license is required with prior experience in an educational or non-profit organization a plus. Visionary financial leadership, transparency in communication and exceptional problem-solving skills are required core competencies.
This is a year-round, full-time position, currently on site. For the appropriate candidate, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Must gain a working knowledge of the NJDOE regulations pertaining to New Jersey APSSD schools and fulfill all state financial requirements for the organization,
- Team with School Principal/Director to implement and maintain effective controls over all processes that affect financial, state reporting and general safety of staff and students,
- Perform bookkeeping and prepare all financial reporting requirements,
- Collaborate and compile requested data for Board of Trustees and Board Committees,
- Maintain personnel files, including update of benefits,
- Maintain and oversee plant, property and equipment,
- Support and assist in Capital Project undertakings,
- Aid in growing philanthropic goals of the organization.

Full-Time salary range is currently $100,000 – $125,000, commensurate with education and experience.
